THE THREE GOALS I HAVE FOR 2021
Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
19 See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.-Isaiah 43:18–19
After the Christmas cheer comes to the January blues and so does the never-ending new year resolutions. I must admit that the new resolutions and the reflections that come with the new year fascinate me. However, I will also admit that the first six days of January have been rough and I have not been able to jot down my goals for the year.
You see, the previous year set the mood that things can change in a blink of an eye-from certainty to uncertainty in a moment. This could be the reason why I have remained sceptical about being so thrilled for the new year and probably hundreds of you out there.
But why do I worry yet the Good Book tells us 365 times that we should not fear?
And so in good times that may come, and in bad times that we wish never existed, I hope that this year will not go wasted.
If I could offer a few goals that I have for 2021, it would be:
- Trust in God
As we get older, we forget this a lot and lean in our own understanding. We forget to have faith when we are cornered and use logic to avoid hope in hopeless situations.
2. Forget the past
If you are like me, then you know that forgetting is a sham if not a scam. I mean, I still remember the guy who broke my tooth in primary school (If I find you…) Be as it may, to enjoy the present moments, we need to let go of the ugly scars and accept the new moments.
3. Laugh a lot and Love a whole lot more.
Sometimes I am too anxious to forget to smile. I plan to laugh a lot, taking walks a lot and loving a whole lot more. I hope you will find things that make you happy.
Have a lovely and prosperous 2021
